Due Friday, May 15 (late forms will not be accepted)
As we approach the end of the school year, our staff begins the throughtful and important process of classroom placement for the upcoming school year. At Stillwater, we are committed to creating classroom environments that foster academic growth, emotional well-being, and a strong sense of community for all students.
Creating balanced and equitable classrooms takes careful planning and collaboration. Our goal is to ensure that each child is placed in a setting where they can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically, To achieve this, our placement process considers a variety of factors, including:
An equal distribution of academic ability across all classrooms (top, middle, and developing learners).
Thoughtful placement of students with behavioral, social, emotional, or learning needs, ensuring that they are supported and set up for success.
Consideration of peer relationships, ensuring that every student has at least one friend or familiar peer in their class.
Balanced gender distribution to promote inclusion and diversity.
Identification of independent learners with high academic ability for placement in composite grades (if applicable).
Even distribution of students new to Stillwater, so all classrooms are welcoming and cohesive.
If you have important information that you feel should be considered during the placement process, Optional Parent Input Forms are available for pick-up only in the office beginning Friday, Apr. 24. These forms are entirely optional but can be helpful when used appropriately. Input forms are do back to the office by Friday, May 16. Late forms will not be accepted.
Please note, while we make every effort to consider parent input, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. Our priority is to create balanced classrooms that support the learning and development of all students.
Please reach out to the office with any questions.
