Thursday, Mar. 12 (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.)
Please save the date for a fun and creative evening celebrating storytelling through words and art on Thursday, March 12, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Acclaimed authors and illustrators Rachel Michelle Wilson and Kristin Varner will present an engaging program beginning promptly at 5:45 p.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m., followed by a book signing from 6:15–6:30 p.m. (see link below to preorder a book!). Their lively presentation pits writing against illustration in an ultimate storytelling showdown, inviting student participation as they explore how words and art work together to create powerful stories.
After the author visit, families are invited to explore the school by completing a Story Bingo Board, with interactive activities hosted by each grade level. Enjoy a display of student artwork from the Reflections competition, along with grade-level showcases from Art and Library highlighting the collaboration between writing and visual storytelling.
Wrap up the evening with a treat from the 5th Grade Outdoor Camp Bake Sale and a visit to the library’s Book Swap, where students can browse and take home gently used books.
